As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Barrick Gold Corporation, AuTec strives to find innovative solutions for the extractive industry with a particular focus on intrinsic challenges (e.g. refractoriness, preg-robbing behaviour, and arsenic content) and extrinsic challenges (e.g. fresh water conservation and jurisdictional bans on cyanide).
AuTec aims to be the first choice for metallurgical test work to support characterization of ores and their suitability to existing processes. AuTec endeavours to be a major partner in research and development initiatives aimed at making step-changes to refractory ore processing and to provide crucial site support to Barrick operations and others who may benefit from the skill sets of AuTec personnel.
AuTec’s assayers, technicians and metallurgists offer expertise in a wide range of metallurgical processing applications, from comminution studies, to mineral processing, to hydrometallurgy and environmental studies, supported by top quality mineralogical and analytical capabilities.
AuTec staff have carried out a significant number of projects throughout the world. These projects have included commissioning of new plants or processes, troubleshooting of existing processes, and operational surveys with an aim to improve metallurgical performance.
